Who we are

Simcoe Outreach Services is an agency, funded by the Ministry of Health, to provide counseling to individuals and their families experiencing problems with alcohol and other drugs as well as gambling problems. We provide assessment, referral, and counseling to individuals in Simcoe County whose primary concern is related to either their own, or someone else's use of alcohol, other drugs, or gambling ( eg. families, couples ). Services are free and are offered by appointment only.

Simcoe Outreach Services has offices in Barrie, Alliston, Collingwood, Midland and Orillia.

What we do

Simcoe Outreach Services believes that treatment is non-judgmental and respectful of a person's own perceptions and goals. Talking about the substance misuse, and reasons behind it, are critical to successful relapse prevention. Staff are familiar with both abstinence ( quitting ), and moderation strategies ( cutting down ). All staff refer to resources in the community and to residential treatment when appropriate.
