Adult Program Counselling is available to people who are concerned about their alcohol or drug use and who are looking for individual support in making change or dealing with other issues related to substance misuse. Significant Others Program Counselling, support, and education is available to people who are concerned about somebody else's use of alcohol or other drugs. This might include parents, partners, or children, who are encouraged to maintain their own self care while dealing with their loved ones. Youth Program The youth program is for people under the age of 24. It is a confidential service that encourages people to make their own choices and come up with their own solutions. There is no wait list. Community Withdrawal Management Community withdrawal management services are available for those people who want support to stop, or significantly change their use of alcohol, or other drugs while remaining in their home. Services include professional support during the withdrawal phase, and 24 hour telephone support.
Gambling Program Simcoe Outreach Services offers support for people experiencing problems with gambling. This treatment includes individual as well as group work. Gambling is betting on horses, playing proline, bingo, lottery or break open tickets, card games, casino gambling and other games involving chance. Umbrellas Program The Umbrellas program is for women who are pregnant and who either currently use or in the past used drugs, alcohol or prescription medication. This program will help with problems relating to pre and post natal care. Counsellors in this program also meet women at local Ontario Early Years Centres around Simcoe County. Methadone Program The methadone maintenance program is for people who struggle with opiate dependence ( eg. Percocet, Codeine, Oxy-contin ). Methadone is an opiate replacement drug that can allow a person to function in everyday life while preventing the withdrawal from opiates. An assessment must be completed before entering the program, to figure out if this program is in your best interest. Weekly appointments with our partnering doctor, and observed drug urine screens are required. There is often a wait list for this program. •This program is available only in the Barrie office. Nurse Practitioner Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioners ( NP ) are registered nurses, who provide care to people who do not have a family doctor and are active clients of Simcoe Outreach Services. NP's will provide health promotion, disease and injury prevention, rehabilitation and support. NP's can complete physicals for both men and women, "Well Baby Checks" and immunization of children. They can order lab tests, x-rays and ultrasounds as well as doing PAP or other screening tests. The nurse practitioner is only available in the Barrie office.
